Eligibility Criteria
IGNOU’s Master of Computer Applications is a two-year post-graduate distance learning program that is ideal for students who wish to pursue a career in the software and technology industry. The distance MCA Program offered by IGNOU is listed among the top 10 universities in the country. Students who wish to pursue this program must fit into the following eligibility criteria
- The candidate must have passed a BCA/B.Sc Computer Science or Bachelor Degree in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent with at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category).
- Students with a Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration from a recognized university with at least 50% or 45% marks (in the case of students belonging to the reserved category) and mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or graduation level can apply for the IGNOU distance MCA program.
- In addition, students who wish to get admission under the eligibility criterion (2) are required to register and successfully complete two bridge courses, namely, MCS-201 (Programming in C and Python) & MCS-208 (Data Structures and Algorithm) of IGNOU along with the Master of Computer Application (MCA) program.

FAQ-Distance MCA Eligibility
The Candidate must have completed a BCA/ B.Sc ( Computer Science/IT) or Bachelor Degree in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent degree with at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to the reserved category).
Students residing outside India can apply for IGNOU’s distance MCA program only if there are partner institutes of IGNOU in their country.
